actually I think electromagnets should be allowed... just because motors are not allowed doesn't mean anything that makes up a motor would not be allowed.

I had a brilliant idea with an electromagnet, however, I did not carry through with it since I couldn't make a decent one.

Anyways my coach already checked with the people and they said an electromagnet is legit and is not counted as a motor or anything.

Does anyone know or has anyone heard if the device will be tested on tables or if it can be tested on the floor at Nationals?

Thank you. I understand that. I sent the question to soinc as a FAQ, but it doesnt really have anywhere in the rules about my question so didnt know about rule # paragraph, sentence etc. I'll send it in as a rules clarification as well.

I hope a little over 1100 does it, but I am sure that there will be a lot of very high scoring machines out there. Good luck to all! it is a great accomplishment just to get to Orlando.
