in the rules, it says something about nutrient recycling. is that like how composting wastes work, or something else?

i would think it means decomposers and decomposition, and compost probably fits too, and probably how nutrients travel through the trophic levels and the different cycles that certain things follow, Carbon, nitrogen, phosphorous, water

Last year at an invitation, there were some multiple choice questions asking about a specific animal. Does anyone know how these types of questions work? Like which animals to study and stuff like that.

definitely keystone species, and anything that has specific adaptations to a desert or grassland, but specific animals, i have no clue, i wouldn't expect to see that at state or regionals unless it is a keystone species, or a species common to one of the focus biomes

just google search for keyston species in a certain biome and you will get some results.

one example i can think of right now is prarie dogs in the american west

my fave question last year involved designing an animal specifically adapted to the desert. im glad i did it because those are the adaptations i need to know this year.
