Ew no! I hated food science! The only reason I went to practice, besides I signed up for it, was for the free food we got!

The concept of the event was good though. I never did it because chemistry isn't really my strength, I tend to go for the earth science events.
7 years, 14 tournaments, 35 medals, 1 amazing experience.

Food Science was my favorite event! I hated the National event last year, though, it was barely about FOOD at all- what does finding the density of mixtures of ethanol and water have to do with any food (that it's legal for us to consume)?! Still, it was the best, and there was so much more that event writers could have done with it. I want it back- maybe next time they'll do a little better.

Haha,i liked it much more at B division than C. My favorite was when they asked us "what is the NY state muffin?" and to label the diagram of an egg ("chalaza" became our food science battlecry).

I liked it. There are SO many Sudan III stains on the event coach's counters. I liked it when you got to see the messed up food after testing them, black potatoes, orange Arizona Tea, Pink Milk, Purple cheese-it mash.

Yeah, in the course of "studying" for Food Sci, I did actually manage to produce an orange bubbling liquid (although that wasn't what I was trying to get... but never mind...) and felt like such a stereotypical chem nerd :geek:
