Indiana Science Olympiad

Depends on the number of teams Indiana has registered this year. Last year was odd that we were right at the borderline, so for the first time in a long time we got only one definite spot. However, there's still a decent chance of sending two teams this year, plus it might work out that if we are at the borderline, we become the "bubble" state again and if some other national qualifying team drops, we take that place. That's why it would be nice to know the number of registered schools to compare to last year, so we might gain some insight on how many Indiana sends. It's a shame the official word doesn't come till the day of competition D:

Yes, State has approached rather quickly.

Well, good luck to all those schools who qualified (or will qualify in the next few weeks).

Is anyone brave enough to make any predictions this year?

Does anyone know where the state schedule is? It's been missing from the website for ages. When I try to open the link, it just says that the file is damaged and cannot be repaired.

ETA: It appears to work in Internet Explorer, just not in Firefox. Never mind, I guess...

For any Indianans out there in College: If you're second year college or higher, I have some openings for helping out at Mission & Junkyard (all day) at States (Mar 20). Stopwatch slingers and a floor boss (paperwork and herding competitors), and MAYBE a #2.

Pay? A volunteer t-shirt, free lunch, and highly possibly, a referral from me (I'm like #3 on the seniority list, so it's a good foot in the door). PM me, and expect me to ask questions. Please PM, as I don't check HERE (this thread) as often as I'd like to.

I don't have them, my coach does. But here is what I remember:

1.Marian 82 points
2.Highland 92 points
3. Hanover 93 points
4. Carrol 94 points

Not entirely sure about the points.
Bold teams qualified for State.

It was terrible for my team, we had a very bad day as far as building events go...with the exception being Egg O Naut. This time our parachute landed on the top of the University's roof

@yayo: that's like my EXACT event list from high school... um... 1999-2002 Olympiads. I had the three chemistry events (Chemistry Lab, Polymer Detectives, Can't Judge a Powder - yes, it started as a C event which became Qualitative Analysis), Cell Bio, Mission Possible (by default... horrible, horrible default... no one else would build the stupid thing) and then had a 6th random event from Road Scholar to Using the Web to PDG (now TPS). Or Science Clue. Man was THAT ever a stress bomb. They could ask you anything about anything, there was no way to prepare whatsoever. Techincally the rules didn't even require that we be asked about science.

Also @ kikiwalls:

Yes, I do know how many C division teams registered for Indiana. Ask your coach. :D
