What I do is I mount my blades on one side of the CD with a little piece of 1/16x1/16 balsa to prop it up on an angle. This way they don't fall back behind the CD and hit the motor, and it is also quite lightweight.

That way you angle the bigger side up and so it doesn't fall behind the blade.
