Erm, we generally call it Science Olympiad. When we don't want to say the whole long two words, we just abbreviate to "SO"...but that's generally it...but then there's the non-science olympiad people who call it the "bunch of people who stay afterschool till 8 pm building things and reading huge textbooks" group

interesting... our team almost exclusively calls it SciOly
and as for Write it do it-- we call it WIDI (wid-ee) not to mention all the other nicknames we have for events...
No matter what the experiment's result, there will always be someone eager to:(a) misinterpret it(b) fake it, or (c) believe it supports his own pet theory.

Most of us use the full name, there's a few kids that use SO sometimes, and I occasionally will use Scioly. Normally when we talk about competitions we refer to them by the name of it though, even out of context.

My team calls it Underwater Bear Fencing this year. Last year we were Underwater Bear Wrestling, and during the first part of last year, we were Underwater Basked Weaving. Other than that, we occasionally call it Science Olympiad, and then somebody slaps you and says "Underwater Bear Fencing!". As for event names, usually we call it by its full name, but Keep The Heat is known as "that heat one,"

My sister and I call it the same thing (along with WIDI too, lol...) though someone in Bio once called it Science Team and it was like "Umm... Science Olympiad?"
