Presidential Candidate vs. SciOly Events

Postby OldSpice on Thu Jan 19, 2012 11:05 pm

I'm genuinely interested as to whether or not there's a correlation between what events someone is on and what GOP candidate they prefer.
I personally do Robot Arm, Fermi Questions, Thermodynamics, and Remote Sensing. I'm generally regarded as a build event person, though I love Fermi questions and I got stuck on remote.
As for my preference in candidates, Ron Paul is my man. Though I would take any of the remaining four conservative candidates besides Mitt Romney.
The man your man could smell like.
Event [RCS Invite]
Fermi Questions [4]
Forestry [7]
Remote Sensing [4]
Robot Arm [-]

I'm in all building events except Storm the Castle, and I like Obama... little off topic, though, considering how you're talking about Republicans.

What events do you suppose predispose a person to favor, say, Paul over Romney or Santorum?

...unless this is just a creative way to start a discussion on the primaries. It's hard to tell.

I do Disease Detectives, Anatomy, Optics, Microbe Mission, Dynamic Planet, Towers, and Keep the Heat.

I proudly say that I support Barack Obama.

OBAMA 2012!!! :D

He is the only candidate out there that knows how to get things changed, who actually understands the American people, and who actually understands the global situation. Although he is not the perfect man, he is trustworthy, highly intelligent, and caring.

(Sorry if this sounds like wierd campaign rhetoric... I just feel strongly about him ;) )

Personally, I'm totally against Romney or Gingrich (moon colony >.<) getting elected. Otherwise, it's all good.
I'm in Disease Detectives, Microbe Mission, Optics (sort of), Experimental Design, and Reach for the Stars.

I wouldn't vote for Gingrich for a number of reasons, but this isn't one of them.

Although I think he's underestimating the difficulty of creating a permanent settlement on the moon, the idea is an admirable one, and one that I can completely support.

But this thread shouldn't be for discussing politics - there is a thread just for that, and it's not desirable to let General Chat become a politics forum otherwise - so I'm not going to go any further. But if you'd like to discuss a space settlement, be it moon colony or otherwise, I'd be happy to offer reasons why we should focus on space settlement elsewhere.

I do the events in my sig, and I'm waiting for a good 3rd party candidate. I'm not a big Obama fan, but he's better than any of the Republicans still in imo. So if nobody worthwhile steps forward, Obama.
2011 Events: Anatomy & Physiology, Disease Detectives, Ecology, Microbe Mission, Mission Possible, Optics, Birds, Protein Modeling, Technical Problem Solving

I'm on Storm the Castle, Dynamic Planet, Crime Busters, and Aquifers.

I also was on Foresty & Water Quality, but had to give them up for scheduling reasons.

And I'm undecided.
20120 Events: Awesome Aquifers, Ornithology, Crime Busters, Storm the Castle
2011 Events: Crime Busters, Forestry, Water Quality, Storm the Castle
2013 Events: Crime Busters, Forestry, ?

Let's see...

My husband said he might just write in a Huckabee/(Ted) Nugent ticket. That, so far, is the best I've heard.

Hmm.

My youngest is 10, and she is doing forestry, aquifer and mission possible. She couldn't care less.
Then my son is 13 doing aquifer, mission possible, microbes, and dynamic planet. He couldn't care less.
My two daughters are very much conservative and favoring Santorum or maybe even Paul?
The 15 year old is doing robot arm, optics, astronomy, protein modeling, fermi, and experimental design.
The 17 year old is doing sounds of music, protein modeling, fermi, experimental design, tech problem solving, and WIDI (all the inquiries!).

So, any trends here???
