Bottle Rockets (B)

Bottle Rockets (B)

Postby Over9000 on Thu Apr 30, 2009 1:10 pm

An "Exploratory" Event at Nationals '09....

Does anybody have any plans for this one? I'm just kind of doing the classic design with a Parachute.

I'm in Division B by the way, so the rules are a lot more lax. And less specific. XD

If you want ideas you'll probably find most of the info you need on the Egg-O-Naut thread and the Bottle Rockets Wiki

Dunno what's going on, but it is an event for Div B. They are using the 2006 rules.

Looks like anything that doesn't exceed 3 meters when combined with the rest of the rocket is fine for a recovery system.

Bottle Rocket Rules wrote:f. Rocket components may separate in flight, but must remain linked together. The maximum extendedlength of the rocket and its components shall not exceed 3 meters.

Bottle Rocket Rules wrote:h. Rockets may use any type of recovery device (including parachutes) that is safe and doesn'tviolate the rules.

would you be allowed to add stuff to your rocket if it didn't make the weight requirements? just like, put something inside the fuselage or something?

That's what they're using, right off the nats site.

Does anyone have suggestions/advice for someone that has never built a bottle rocket before?
